No pictures with Kareena Kapoor Khan was intentional: Shahid Kapoor

Mumbai: 'Udta Punjab' has been in news ever since it has been announced. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan made their first public appearance together after their infamous split at the trailer launch of the movie. A lot has been written about an 'awkwardness' that existed between the two as they stood far apart with Alia Bhatt standing between them.

However, Shahid made some interesting revelations at a recent promotional event. He said that he intentionally didn’t want to be clicked with his 'Udta Punjab' co-star as the media would then only talk about it.

He said, “Just tell me how is it decided that two people feel awkward. That we were looking at each other in a particular way? What you did find awkward? Were we staring at each other?”

When pointed out that they maintained distance and didn’t click pictures together, Shahid said: “If Kareena and I had pictures together, then people would write only about that and talk only about that. We were there as a team of four to promote Udta Punjab. I wanted the movie to be represented well. That is why we made sure we are standing in a way that the press will not click pics that they want to click, which are controversial and put out something wrong out there. We wanted to be correct about the representation of the film."

Recently, there have been reports that the film which is based on the issue of substance abuse in Punjab, has failed to get censor board's approval due to expletives and drug use. However, Anurag Kashyap clarified that the film has gone to the revising committee of the board like any other movie.
